Weideman Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics doctors and staff hope this email finds you and your family safe and in good health! We recognize that our community has been through a lot over the past couple of months, and all of us are looking forward to resuming our day-to-day routines. Dentistry has always been an essential business and we have been open for dental emergencies. Recently, Sacramento County’s shelter in place expired and we have been given the green light to resume preventive/routine and all other oral health services.

While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your safety. Infection control has always been a top priority for our practice. We follow the highest standards of infection control recommendations made by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). Because of the most recent pandemic, we have remained up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that has been issued. For the safety of our patients, families and staff, we have set new protocols and safety measures in our office.

Rest assured that we have taken the new safety measures to protect your health very seriously. We value your trust and loyalty and look forward to welcoming back our patients, neighbors and friends. We are happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps we are taking to keep you and every patient safe in our practice. To make an appointment, please call us or request an appointment.

Appointment Safety Protocols

Our already safe office and highly trained team have new protocols.
  • All patients and staff will have temperature taken when entering the office and asked to complete a COVID-19 prevention checklist
  • Cleaning supplies have been upgraded specifically for COVID-19 use
  • All surfaces, including door handles, will be sterilized on a frequent basis
  • Hand sanitizer, hand washing supplies and masks are available to everyone
  • Hepa filters with UV lights are placed for particulate filtering and virus destruction
  • Front desk areas have protective plexiglass on countertops
  • Patients will be asked to use our texting system upon arrival for safe distancing
  • Waiting room chairs have been arranged to allow for proper distancing
  • Scheduling considerations are made for social distancing
  • Patient paperwork will now be signed electronically through our patient portal
  • Doctors and staff will be wearing FDA and CDC approved, professional grade masks, goggles, face shields, and additional protective wear (PPE)
  • We will continue to offer teledentistry consultations for those who prefer to stay home

Orthodontics Questions

What do I do if I need help?

The brackets and wires we use will continue to straighten your teeth regardless of how often you come into the office. If you or your child are experiencing pain or discomfort, we will do everything that we can to help. If you end up with a pokey wire, broken bracket, or anything that is hurting you, please call or text the office and we’ll get you taken care of. However, due to office restrictions, we cannot re-bond broken brackets at this time.

At Home Tips

What should I pay attention to during the closure?
  • Keep good oral hygiene practices
  • Avoid food groups that break brackets.
  • Wear your elastics (rubber bands) as instructed. Contact us if you need more.
  • Wear your Invisalign aligners full time as instructed. Keep wearing the last set that you have until we can see you.
  • Wear your retainers as instructed.
  • If you have any orthodontic emergency, call us and our voicemail will direct you to the doctor on call.

Pediatric Dentistry

What do I do if I need help?

We are still available for dental emergencies. Call or Text if your child is experiencing swelling, a severe tooth ache, dental trauma, or a broken appliance. In the meantime, keep brushing and flossing daily and limit sugary food to help avoid cavities.

Teledentistry

Do you have any virtual appointments?

Serving you the best we can is always our top priority– even when our office is closed! Teledentistry is a new and innovative platform that allows for patients to be seen for virtual appointments. Our team would be happy to schedule your next Teledentistry appointment.
