Dr. Jeff is a unique addition to the Weideman family practice in that since the age of three he was a patient of Dr. Mike, founder of the pediatric practice. It was in this environment of a caring dentist, kind-hearted staff and a quality dental practice that Dr. Jeff realized his love of pediatric dentistry. While still a high school student, Dr. Jeff was awarded a dental health scholarship from Sunrise Dental Associates. Because of his involvement with the office, the Weidemans realized a mentoring program would be beneficial to encourage and assist young people wanting to pursue a career in the field of dentistry. This program, in effect today, allows students to be a part of the daily activities of a child friendly, patient-centered office.

Dr. Jeff is an active member in all national, state and local dental societies and in the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. He has been able to do volunteer dental work on the underprivileged children of Sacramento in an event called Smiles for Kids. He has also encouraged his peers to follow his lead in assisting these disadvantaged children by taking care of their dental needs and improving their oral hygiene skills. Dr. Jeff has also co-chaired the Sacramento District Dental Society’s Dental Health Committee that meets regularly to discuss how to develop and advance dental health programs for our local children. This same group designed and printed a brochure on the proper care of infant and children’s teeth that many area dentists and pediatricians currently give to their patients.

As a dedicated husband and father of three, Dr. Jeff has many interests outside of pediatric dentistry. He plays softball in a community league, coaches soccer for his son’s team and enjoys watching his favorite professional sports teams. In addition to sports, he likes to sing in a barbershop quartet and mentor and participate in the youth activities at his church. He is an avid Star Wars fan and enjoys all kinds of video games, an interest that helps keep him connected to today’s youth.
